WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — A former southwestern Pennsylvania police chief was sentenced to three to 12 months in jail after being convicted of using about $10,000 from a federal Drug Enforcement Administration fund at casinos. Sixty-seven-year-old John Pushak was convicted in June of theft, failure to make a required disposition of funds and misapplication of entrusted property. The (Washington) Observer-Reporter (http://bit.ly/2byOnif ) reports that the Washington County judge cited Pushak's dedication to his job but also his breach of public trust in imposing Monday's sentence. Prosecutors say the former Cecil Township police chief made ATM withdrawals from the department's federal property account and used that to gamble at two casinos between 2010 and 2013.
