PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Latest on a man hospitalized with a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the wife he allegedly kidnapped was found dead in a barn (all times local): ___ 6:50 p.m. A Pennsylvania medical examiner says a man hospitalized with a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the kidnapping and death of his wife is now brain dead. The Allegheny County medical examiner's office said Wednesday that it had been "advised of the brain death" of 47-year-old Kevin Ewing. The office said an autopsy is pending as Ewing remains on a ventilator until a decision about organ donation is made. State police at the Washington, Pennsylvania barracks say 47-year-old Kevin Ewing abducted 48-year-old Tierne (TEER'-nee) Ewing at gunpoint from a residence in West Finley Township at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. Her body was found Tuesday night in the same township several miles away and police say she died "of an apparent gunshot wound." The Washington County coroner hasn't formally ruled on her death. Officials said that Kevin Ewing was also found there with a gunshot wound.
