DOGS HELP KIDS TESTIFY MEDIA — A courthouse in eastern Pennsylvania is believed to be the first in the state to use dogs to help children feel safe and relaxed before they testify. SENT: 130 words. ELSEWHERE: DOMINION LOCKOUT CHARLESTON, W.Va. — An agreement has been reached to end a weeklong lockout at Dominion's natural gas and interstate transmission subsidiaries. Dominion Hope and Dominion Transmission agreed to end the lockout involving 915 workers in six states, while the United Gas Workers Union Local 69 vowed not to strike. The agreement, announced in a joint news release Wednesday, runs through April 1, 2017. COOPER UNION PRESIDENT NEW YORK — The executive director of the William Penn Foundation in Philadelphia has been named president of The Cooper Union in New York. Cooper Union says Laura Sparks will start her new job on Jan. 4. She'll be the first female president of the Manhattan college, which is known for its architecture, arts and engineering programs. IN BRIEF: —DRUG SUSPECT URINATES — Police say a Pennsylvania drug suspect was all wet when he urinated in his pants in hopes that would dissolve some heroin and cocaine officers say they found in his pocket. —FIRE-MEN POSSIBLY TRAPPED — Authorities are trying to find three mentally disabled men who were believed to be trapped when a western Pennsylvania home caught fire. —POLICE BARRACKS SHOOTING — The jurors who will decide the fate of a man charged with killing a Pennsylvania state trooper in an ambush shooting in rural northeastern Pennsylvania will be bused in from the Philadelphia suburbs. —STABBED AND BURNED — Police say someone stabbed a Philadelphia man 77 times before returning to the scene and setting him on fire. —ONE MAN-TWO WIVES — Authorities say a man is facing charges after his New York City wife called authorities and said he'd married another woman in Pennsylvania. —WIDOW-MURDER-SUICIDE — Philadelphia police say a 68-year-old widow found stabbed to death in her home along with a former male friend was the victim of a murder-suicide. —PITTSBURGH CHIEF-NO CONFIDENCE — Pittsburgh's police union has made it official: Officers have no confidence in their chief. —PRISON STABBING-LOCKDOWN — A state prison has been locked down in northeastern Pennsylvania after two inmates were stabbed with homemade weapons during a fight. —WOMAN HELD CAPTIVE — Police have arrested a man who they say took a woman into a wooded Pennsylvania area and beat her as he held her and her young child captive. —SHOPPING CENTER-HISTORICAL MARKER — A shopping center in Philadelphia has been recognized for its historical significance as the first in the country to be built, owned and operated by African-Americans. —BUILDING COLLAPSE — Opening statements are scheduled to begin next week in a trial to determine who should pay the victims of a deadly 2013 building collapse in Philadelphia.
