Lackawanna County restaurant inspections: Which restaurant had a mold build-up in its ice machine?

<p>On Aug. 2, Newport Township Crime Watch and the Newport Township Police Department sponsored their first National Night Out Community Picnic at St. Faustina&#8217;s Grove in Sheatown; event organizers were overwhelmed by the community&#8217;s response.</p><p>The Crime Watch participants thank everyone who contributed to the success of this event. So many individuals, businesses, civic organizations, performers, members of the military, fire and medical personnel, law enforcement and public officials were involved in the event that it would take an entire newspaper page to list them all. The Crime Watch is deeply grateful to every one who participated.</p><p>Newport Township has received a lot of negative publicity within the past year, but the actions and opinions of a few do not define a community. The caring people of that community do. On Aug. 2, it was evident that community pride is alive and flourishing in the township. </p><p>Special thanks must be given to the first responders of Newport Township and Nanticoke. These outstanding men and women are truly deserving of our trust and respect.</p><p>To everyone who attended and enjoyed our community picnic, thank you for coming.
