LCCC paramedic class holds charity bike ride

<p>Commonwealth Health will present a free community lecture presented by Ricardo Horn at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion, 468 Northampton St., Edwardsville, on mindfulness-based therapy. &#8220;Mindfulness in Behavioral Health: Living in the Now,&#8221; will be presented as part of the First Hospital community lecture series.</p><p>This therapy is one of the fastest evolving treatment approaches in psychology and related fields. This program will help clinicians treat psychiatric, substance abuse and medical conditions, as well as foster health and wellness. The program will focus on the positive impact of mindfulness strategies for patients in clinical settings and also how it can decrease staff burnout and stress.</p><p>Horn is a graduate of Marywood University and James Madison University. He holds a master&#8217;s degree in social work and received mindfulness training at Jefferson University Hospital&#8217;s Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine.
