<p>LEHMAN TWP. &#8212; Berwick quarterback Jared Marshman entered Friday night&#8217;s game against Lake-Lehman a shade over 100 yards rushing through the first nine games of the season.</p><p>With most teams&#8217; defenses starting to key on Dawgs starting tailback Lenny Wyda, who entered Friday with 18 rushing touchdowns, it was time for Marshman to break out. And he did just that.</p><p>The junior quarterback reeled off 178 rushing yards and two scores on the ground on just eight carries as he bulled through Lake-Lehman&#8217;s defense helping Berwick top the Black Knights 62-14.</p><p>Marshman led the Berwick rushing attack which stormed through Lehman for 439 rushing yards and eight touchdowns en route to the thrashing.</p><p>&#8220;You can see he&#8217;s starting to understand the whole offense,&#8221; Berwick coach Frank Sheptock said about his QB. &#8220;Very pleased because he&#8217;s really developed from the beginning of the year where he&#8217;s understanding his own read.</p><p>&#8220;If you look at us offensively, you&#8217;re saying, &#8216;Hey, who do you need to stop? You need to stop (Wyda).&#8217; So as ends are starting to pinch down and take (Wyda), Jared&#8217;s making a great read. It&#8217;s just option football. You&#8217;re blocking everyone but one guy and he&#8217;s really starting to see the reads.&#8221;</p><p>While Marshman picked up four runs of 20 yards or more, Wyda continued his dominating season with three touchdowns on the ground and 132 yards.</p><p>Berwick (6-3) scored on all but one of its possessions as the driving rain and windy conditions didn&#8217;t dampen the team&#8217;s goals.</p><p>The Black Knights (5-4) did appear to have trouble in the conditions. They fumbled six times and lost three with the most damaging one coming near the end of the second quarter. That&#8217;s when Lehman drove to the Berwick 1-yard line trailing 20-7. Instead of perhaps scoring a touchdown and pulling within six points, the team turned the ball over on the Berwick 1. The Dawgs proceeded to drive 99 yards on just nine plays capped by a 37-yard run by Wyda to take a 27-7 lead into the break.</p><p>Berwick put the game out of reach with four touchdowns in the third quarter with two of them coming off Lehman turnovers as it put up at least 60 points in two of the last three weeks.</p><p>&#8220;We&#8217;re very pleased in the second half of the season with how our offense has developed,&#8221; Sheptock added.</p><p>In a tune-up for its last regular season game when they face Williamsport looking for a home game in the playoffs, the Dawgs looked dominant on defense too.
