WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — Officials say they haven't seen much impact from a gasoline spill during a freak storm in central Pennsylvania, but they are monitoring water supplies in the area. The flooding early Friday caused a Sunoco Logistics pipeline to rupture, sending an estimated 54,600 gallons into a tributary of Loyalsock Creek. Sunoco Logistics spokesman Jeff Shields said Saturday that there is no indication that water supplies in the area have been affected, but the company and state and federal environmental officials are monitoring them. He said skimmers and booms have been deployed but not much of the gas has been found due to the volume of water during the storm. Shields said the company is waiting for water to recede and expose the pipe so that officials can formulate a repair plan.
