Wyoming Valley could see first snowflakes fall tonight, into Thursday morning

WILKES-BARRE — Police are investigating a shooting that resulted in a man sustaining non-life threatening injuries early Wednesday morning.

Police said that officers were dispatched at 12:23 a.m. to an area in the 300 block of North Washington street for a report of several shots fired.

Officers arrived to find a 33-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds to his foot and shoulder. The man was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, according to police.

Police said the victim described the suspects as two unknown black males, but became uncooperative with investigators. Police also said a house and vehicle were also struck by gunfire, but no other injuries were reported. It was not made clear in the police report how many shots were fired.

Detectives from Wilkes-Barre City Police department, as well as the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Service Unit, also responded to the scene.
