Letter to the Editor: Family of the late Tom Fritz appreciative of Avoca community’s support

<p>The presidential election is fast approaching. We have two major-party candidates who agree on only one thing: They are both human. That&#8217;s it. So with the voter having to choose the best candidate, let&#8217;s compare them.</p><p>The Republican nominee, Donald Trump, is a successful businessman who loathes the direction our country is taking. He is not a politician, but a concerned citizen. He wants to make America great again. He has flaws, of course. But he is sincere about his intentions. He also is spending a considerable amount of his own money for our benefit.</p><p>On the other side we have a seasoned politician in Hillary Clinton. She&#8217;s been around a long time &#8211; a candidate who is great at politics, power hungry, and offers virtually nothing. We don&#8217;t really know what she stands for. She constantly changes her opinion on issues. She is a proven liar. She claims she will rein in Wall Street, although she loves the millions of dollars they give her. She claims she is a champion of women, except she attacked the sexual-assault victims of her husband. And she accepted more money from countries who treat women as second-class citizens, possessions of their husbands.</p><p>She promises a no-fly-zone in war-torn Syria while, in private, claims it cannot be done. She wants to increase the nation&#8217;s intake of refugees from terrorist countries but, once again in private, acknowledges they cannot be properly vetted. Did I mention the newest leak, the one in which her campaign attacks and mocks Catholics and Evangelicals?</p><p>Does this woman love or respect anything besides power and money? </p><p>I think everyone agrees Clinton is loved by the mainstream media and the feminists. We all must ask why. What, exactly, is she promising to the good people of this nation?</p><p>We have the greatest nation on Earth. We have only one candidate who wants to keep us great.</p><p>This is an important election, folks. Please take it seriously.</p><p><strong>Bill Dress</strong></p><p>Wilkes-Barre</p><style>
