Mixture of sunshine, chance of rain expected into the weekend

<p>DURYEA &#8212; A fire that stared inside a walk-in cooler and damaged several boxes inside Weis Market is under investigation.</p><p>Crews were dispatched to the store on Phoenix Street at approximately 7 a.m. for a report of a commercial structure fire. Mike Wall, chief engineer for the Germania Hose Company, said the fire originated in a walk-in cooler in the storage area of the store.</p><p>Wall explained that workers noticed the odor of smoke and notified the fire department. Other than some smoldered boxes, Wall did not believe the building sustained any structural damage.</p><p>The fire was classified as a second alarm due to the building being a commercial structure, and &#8220;to get manpower and apparatus here due to the size of the building,&#8221; Wall said.</p><p>The Department of Agriculture has been notified of the fire, and Wall said they will make the determination as to whether or not the store can remain open.</p><p>&#8220;The fire department would recommend that they would be closed until they&#8217;re inspected,&#8221; Wall said.</p><p>A Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal is expected to investigate the fire. No injuries were reported.</p><style>
