Activists split as Clinton makes push for black millennials

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Some young black activists who had their doubts about Hillary Clinton are coming around to support her — some enthusiastically, some because they cannot stand Donald Trump. But others are holding back, saying they are still not convinced she will address priorities like police brutality and racism. African-American voters are seen as key to Clinton's path to victory in November. As a result, she is making what an aide calls a full-court press to reach black millennials. She is courting Black Lives Matter activists, campaigning at historically black colleges, deploying surrogates like New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and tapping the likes of rapper Jay-Z to perform a get-out-the-vote concert.
