Australia's ANZ Banks posts record $5.9 B profit

<b>First Posted:</b> 10/11/2012<br><br>WILKES-BARRE - Two days after a man was shot in the Sherman Hills apartment complex, city police on Thursday released details about the incident. 

Police were called to Sherman Hills in the area of 332 Parkview Circle at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday for gunfire. No victims were found but several .45 caliber shell casings were recovered. 

Less than an hour later just after 4 p.m., police were notified that a gunshot victim had shown up in the emergency room at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. 

A 28-year-old man, whose name was not released, told police he was visiting friends in Sherman Hills and observed two unknown males arguing. He heard several loud bangs and felt a burning sensation in his leg. 

The man claimed he ran to 332 Parkview Circle and realized he suffered a gunshot wound. He was given a ride to the hospital. 

Tuesday's shooting followed a shooting on the fifth floor of the high rise at Sherman Hills on Friday when a police officer was shot in the ankle. 

Sgt. Matthew Stash, 43, was with deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service searching for Robert Montgomery III, 29. 

Montgomery was found lying on a makeshift bed inside his father's apartment. He allegedly opened fire striking Stash in the ankle, according to officials. 

Montgomery was killed when law enforcement officials returned fire. He was wanted on attempted homicide charges in Philadelphia.
