BARRINGTON, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island man whose remarks on women wearing yoga pants angered many and spurred a parade is standing by his comments. Alan Sorrentino's letter printed in The Barrington Times had argued that yoga pants belong in the yoga studio and that women over age 20 shouldn't wear them in public. The remarks were called misogynistic and prompted hundreds of women and other supporters to proudly don their yoga pants at a Sunday parade in Sorrentino's Barrington neighborhood. Sixty-four-year-old Sorrentino tells The Providence Journal (http://bit.ly/2eLmCRh ) that his critics are like "evil sorority girls" who should leave "an old man" alone. He maintains the letter was intended to be somewhat satirical and funny.
