‘Dancing With the Wilkes-Barre Stars’ will benefit KISS Theatre

Wilkes University hosts Sports Bash for Luzerne County Special Olympics

WILKES-BARRE - Wilkes University is presenting the lecture &#8220;How Irish Immigrants Became Irish Americans: Immigration, Nativism, and Contested Loyalties in 19th-century America&#8221; from 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Miller Room of the Henry Student Center.The presenter will be Ian Delahanty, an expert on American history and professor at Springfield College in Massachusetts.Delahanty is assistant professor of history in the social sciences department at Springfield College. He received his doctorate in American history from Boston College in 2013 and teaches classes on American history, immigration and ethnic history, the Civil War and African American history.
