<p>KINGSTON &#8212; A couple facing charges after allegedly <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/594042/couple-charged-with-allegedly-stealing-over-170000-from-kingston-church" target="_blank">stealing over $170,000 from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church</a> on Wyoming Avenue is heading to higher court.</p><p>Keith White, 51, and Cherie White, 44, were each scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Paul Roberts on Wednesday. Court documents indicate the pair waived all of their charges onto higher court.</p><p>Keith and Cherie White each face a slew of charges in connection with the alleged theft. Cherie White was employed as the church secretary and Keith White was president of the church board.</p><p>The pair is accused of stealing $174,482.98 over the course of several years through unlawful debit and credit transactions, payroll checks, and checks and cash taken from offerings.</p><p>The Whites are scheduled for formal arraignments at 10 a.m. on Jan. 5 in the Luzerne County Courthouse. They are both free on unsecured bail.</p><style>
