MEDIA, Pa. (AP) — Election officials in suburban Philadelphia have rejected about three-quarters of the late applications gathered by a grassroots group under investigation. Delaware County officials at a hearing Friday said that about 3,400 applications gathered by the group FieldWorks were duplicates or had invalid addresses or other errors. The officials said an additional 1,160 applications appeared valid. Those voters can submit provisional ballots Tuesday though their applications arrived after the county's Oct. 11 deadline. State officials received the applications from FieldWorks before then and urged the county to accept them. The Washington, D.C.-based FieldWorks has worked with Democratic and liberal groups around the country. Delaware County officials say they are cooperating with state and local authorities investigating the group for possible voter registration fraud.
