<p>MATAMORAS &#8212; Trevor Martin fought through two defenders and snuck the ball into the front-right corner of the net with 5:56 left in overtime to give Delaware Valley a 2-1 win and the Class 4A District 2 championship over Hazleton.</p><p>It was the senior&#8217;s second goal of his varsity career.</p><p>&#8220;You can&#8217;t win by yourself, and even though we only had 10 guys, we still pulled it out because our team chemistry was just so good,&#8221; he said.</p><p>Hazleton (4-11) got on the scoreboard first when Johnathan Pozniak slipped one past Daniel Bradley for the early one-goal lead at 10:30 in the first half.</p><p>Despite the goal, the Warriors (9-6-1) took 10 more shots than the Cougars and dominated possession of the ball.</p><p>In the second half, Delaware Valley&#8217;s energetic attack continued, paying off when Jan-Erich Sacken redirected a header and booted the ball into the back of the net for the equalizer with 21:15 remaining in regulation.</p><p>However following the goal, Warriors&#8217; Abrar Shamim was assessed a red card for unsportsmanlike conduct, forcing Delaware Valley to play with only 10 players for the rest of the game. Both teams had opportunities to break the tie, but both defenses held until Martin&#8217;s overtime heroics.</p><p>Hazleton&#8217;s Tyler Fancher finished with 17 saves in goal.</p><p>&#8220;We knew Hazleton was going to be a good team and we knew that we needed to come out and we need to play hard and go at them in order to the goal we needed,&#8221; Martin said.</p><p><strong>District 2 Class 4A Championship</strong></p><p><strong>Hazleton Area 1, Delaware Valley 2</strong></p><p><strong>Hazleton Area`1`0`0` &#8212; `1</strong></p><p><strong>Delaware Valley`0`1`1`&#8212;`2</strong></p><p><strong>First half</strong> &#8212; 1.
