Letter to the Editor: Something about proposed Wilkes-Barre budget doesn’t add up

Patriots’ Belichick says letter to Trump ‘not politically motivated’

<p>Garrett Wilson made a prediction after last Friday&#8217;s 4-1 win over Binghamton.</p><p>With two more games yet to play in the weekend, Wilson predicted that opening the three-in-three with a win would lead to more points over the next two days.</p><p>With wins against Bridgeport and Providence to wrap up the weekend, Wilson was right. The Penguins earned all six points available in the three-in-three.</p><p>&#8220;We got the two points at home on Friday, and that really helped our confidence for the rest of the weekend,&#8221; Wilson said after Wednesday&#8217;s practice at the Toyota Sportsplex.</p><p>&#8220;We were able to finish it off and get the extra four points.&#8221;</p><p>Saturday&#8217;s 7-1 win over Bridgeport marked the eighth consecutive game that the games held their opponent to just one goal, but the offense also proved potent during the weekend sweep.</p><p>The Penguins registered 16 goals over the three-game span, including Sunday&#8217;s 5-4 shootout win over Providence. Jake Guentzel and Tom Kostopoulos led the way with three goals each, while Oskar Sundqvist and rookie Reid Gardiner each scored twice over the weekend.</p><p>Wilson led the way, however, with an even-strength goal on Friday, a penalty shot tally on Saturday and then the game-winner during the shootout during Sunday in Providence.</p><p>&#8220;I was shooting from the same spot on all three goals, and they were all different scenarios,&#8221; Wilson said. &#8220;I was fortunate and it got me rolling.&#8221;</p><p>Kostopoulos now has a goal in each of his last four games &#8212; the second-longest streak of his career and something he attributed to linemates Guentzel and Carter Rowney.</p><p>&#8220;They make it easy. None of my goals have been hard,&#8221; Kostopoulos said. &#8220;I feel like they&#8217;ve been lugging the mail, and I was just there to tap them in.&#8221;</p><p><strong>Blueline movement</strong></p><p>Wilkes-Barre/Scranton endured four roster moves over the last two days, but the depth remains intact.</p><p>Pittsburgh sent down Tom Sestito on Tuesday before calling him back up on Wednesday in what amounted to a paper transaction. Defenseman Chad Ruhwedel was called up on Tuesday but sent back down on Wednesday. Defenseman Steve Oleksy was also recalled on Tuesday and remains with the big club.</p><p>Pittsburgh also returned defenseman David Warsofsky on Monday, which fills the blueline void left by Oleksy.</p><p>With six healthy defensemen and another three-in-three coming up this weekend, Penguins coach Clark Donatelli is comfortable with his defense corps.</p><p>&#8220;Ruhwedel coming back is good news, and it&#8217;s going to help us,&#8221; Donatelli said. &#8220;We&#8217;re at the same numbers, and with three games in three nights coming up, we&#8217;ll utilize all our guys accordingly.&#8221;</p><p>Center Adam Krause, who appeared in one game this season with the Penguins, was assigned to Wheeling on Monday.</p><p><strong>Injury front</strong></p><p>Forward Thomas Di Pauli practiced without the no-contact jersey on Wednesday and Donatelli expects him to be available for this weekend. Di Pauli has yet to play this season after suffering a lower-body injury during Pittsburgh&#8217;s training camp.</p><style>
