Barletta says Trump Transition Team sifting through thousands of applications

<p>PLAINS TWP.&#8212; A township resident was arrested Thursday after police say he stole $116,300 from the Plains Township Volunteer Ambulance Association.</p><p>According to a press release from the Luzerne County District Attorney&#8217;s office, in June 2012, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General received a complaint in June 2012, alleging Paul Zabriski had misappropriated the funds in his role as treasurer of both the Plains Township Ambulance/Rescue and the Plains Volunteer Ambulance Banquet Facility.</p><p>Following that report, the Attorney General&#8217;s office began a forensic audit of the business and its financial records.</p><p>In 2015, the investigation was forwarded to the Luzerne County District Attorney&#8217;s Office and the Plains Township Police Department for further investigation and prosecution. That investigation indicated Zabriski had misappropriated the funds.</p><p>Following Zabriski&#8217;s arrest, he was arraigned in front of District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.</p><p>District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis said Zabriski&#8217;s actions were &#8220;another example of a person abusing their position&#8221; and &#8220;reflect poorly on all other organizations that work hard every day to do good for their communities.&#8221;</p><style>
