2 arrested at anti-Trump protest at University of Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police have charged two anti-Donald Trump protesters with aggravated assault for allegedly scuffling with officers who tried to keep about 100 marchers out of a University of Pittsburgh dormitory. Pitt spokesman Joseph Miksch says the protesters — one a student, the other not — were arrested Thursday evening after campus police asked them not to enter the lobby of Litchfield Towers. Police say the student, a 23-year-old, pushed a female officer's patrol bicycle into the crowd then pushed the officer in the chest several times while yelling obscenities. The other, a 20-year-old non-student, was arrested after he allegedly grabbed an officer's protective vest and wouldn't let go. Some protesters blamed the violence on the police, but police say the protesters were the aggressors after making anti-police chants.
