PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Community College of Philadelphia officials say the school's Center City campus will be going smoke free beginning January 1, 2017. KYW-TV reports (http://cbsloc.al/2g2jC4a ) an announcement of the ban was made Thursday during an event for the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout, which was designed to help smokers kick the habit. CCP's Dr. Kristy Shuda-McGuire says the move will help improve the health of both smokers and non-smokers alike. The decision to make CCP's campus smoke free was made to avoid confusion regarding the college's prior rule that smoking was only permitted 25 feet away from any entrance, exit or ramp.
