<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The only requirement to have Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday with city Councilman Tony Brooks is a love for dogs.</p><p>Brooks posted an open invitation on both his personal and council Facebook pages Wednesday afternoon, saying: &#8220;No one should be alone for Thanksgiving. If you need some friends and family, just let me know; you are welcome to join our family at 4 p.m. tomorrow for Thanksgiving.&#8221;</p><p>Brooks added: &#8220;Oh, you must like dogs! Don&#8217;t worry, they will love you. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.&#8221;</p><p>He said that while this is the first year his family has opened its doors for Thanksgiving, he has done similar invitations for Christmas the past five years. Brooks said he extends the invitation &#8220;in case anyone is alone.&#8221;</p><p>The first person to take up Brooks on his offer was a 90-year-old woman who lives alone in Provincial Tower, he said. Anyone who needs a place to spend the holiday is free call him at 570-793-3631.</p><p>Brooks said he hopes his deed will inspire others in the area, especially during the holiday season.</p><p>&#8220;Everyone has it in them to do something nice for someone,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Imagine a world where everyone does this.&#8221;</p><style>
