Dylann Roof competent to stand trial in South Carolina church shooting

<p>Thanksgiving took a violent turn for one couple when a 29-year-old Schuylkill County man allegedly struck his girlfriend in the face with a case of beer.</p><p>State police in Frackville said the man, from New Philadelphia, broke a porch chair over his father&#8217;s vehicle before hitting the woman, a 23-year-old from Saint Clair, during a domestic spat Thursday at a residence on Wiggan Street in New Philadelphia Borough.</p><p>Officials did not identify the pair and a state trooper said further information was unavailable when reached by phone at the Frackville barracks Friday.</p><p>The male faces simple assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct charges.</p><style>
