<p>WILKES-BARRE TWP. &#8212; Tristan Jarry admitted the thought of a shutout crossed his mind on Saturday night when the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins faced the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.</p><p>But he made sure not to jinx himself by thinking about the possibility during the game.</p><p>&#8220;Not until the game was over,&#8221; said Jarry, who stopped all 24 shots he faced in a 1-0 win. &#8220;You don&#8217;t really think about it. You kind of let it happen.&#8221;</p><p>Jarry&#8217;s shutout was the first in 19 games this season for the Penguins (13-4-2-0), who wrapped up a stint where they faced the Sound Tigers three times in the last five games. On the goal side, the power play proved to be the difference after the Penguins broke out of a 0 for 28 slump to connect in the third period. Jean-Sebastien Dea accounted for the power-play tally with one second left on the man advantage.</p><p>In four meetings this season, the Penguins are now 3-0-1-0 against Bridgeport and are responsible for half of the Sound Tigers&#8217; losses (12-6-0-0).</p><p>&#8220;That&#8217;s a hell of a hockey club,&#8221; Penguins head coach Clark Donatelli said. &#8220;It was a playoff-type game.&#8221;</p><p>The Penguins matched the Sound Tigers in the first period and generated several scoring chances thanks to Thomas Di Pauli, who just missed on a give-and-go early on and then dished a pass to Ryan Haggerty who hit the post.</p><p>The Penguins controlled the play in the second period, outshooting Bridgeport 14 to 9 and gaining three consecutive power plays.</p><p>But what has become a sore spot of late, the Penguins blanked on all three chances and had trouble setting up in the zone without Carter Rowney on the ice, who was a late scratch after taking warmups.</p><p>At the end of two periods, the Penguins power play was 0 for 4.</p><p>&#8220;We had our chances. It just didn&#8217;t want to go in,&#8221; Dea said.</p><p>In the opening minutes of the third period, the Penguins went on their fourth consecutive power play and this time, they made it count at the last second.</p><p>With a jam-up in front of the net, a shot ricocheted into the air and appeared to be batted into the net by Dea with one second remaining on the man advantage.</p><p>A scrum ensued as the goal light went on with Williams pouncing on Dea, but the goal stood. The tally broke was the first power-play goal for the Penguins in 29 chances.</p><p>The chippy playcontinued several shifts later when Dea skated behind Williams, who was out of the crease, and caught his skates with his sticks to upend the Bridgeport goaltender. Sound Tigers defenseman Kyle Burroughs dropped the gloves with Dea immediately after the play.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s part of the game. It&#8217;s always a tough game against them,&#8221; Dea said. &#8220;They&#8217;re aggressive just like us.&#8221;</p><p>NOTES</p><p>- Donatelli said Rowney suffered an upper body injury in Friday&#8217;s game at Bridgeport and is considered day-to-day. Also scratched was the newly acquired Danny Kristo. Donatelli said Kristo was a healthy scratch.</p><p>- D Derrick Pouliot played his third game with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while on a conditioning assignment from Pittsburgh. He is scoreless and a minus-1 with six shots in three games.</p><style>
