Funeral held for mom and son shot to death while sleeping

NEW STANTON, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania woman and her 8-year-old son have been laid to rest less than a week after her 14-year-old son allegedly shot both as they slept. Monday's funeral for 46-yearold Dana Remaley and her son, Caleb, were held at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church in New Derry. Joshua Remaley remains in custody on first-degree murder and criminal homicide charges in the shootings Wednesday at the family's New Stanton home. Online court records don't list an attorney for the boy who is charged as an adult. State police say Jacob first called 911 and insinuated his father shot the victims, but later confessed to using his father's gun after his father, David, left for work that day. Police have said the teen hadn't been getting along with his parents, but otherwise didn't offer a motive.
