Nanticoke man headed to trial on indecent assault charge

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; It&#8217;s the most wonderful time of the year, especially for parking your car in downtown Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>Those parking in the area will not have to put money in the meters after noon from Friday through Dec. 26, Mayor Tony George announced Wednesday. The free parking area will run from Public Square to Union Street on the north, Franklin Street on the west, South Street on the south and Washington Street on the east.</p><p>Cars parked at expired meters in other parts of the city will still be ticketed.</p><p>George said he hopes the free parking will serve as an encouragement for area shoppers to frequent downtown stores and restaurants, as well as the &#8220;Old-Fashioned Holiday Market&#8221; the city is sponsoring from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday on Public Square.</p><p>The market will offer jewelry, clothing, home decor, gifts and candy.</p><p>Local restaurants will provide samples of their products at the event, and there will be wine tasting. More than a dozen performances will be held during the two-day event.</p><style>
