Jeff King named to first class of National Pest Management Association executive leadership program

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Ataul Qureshi, M.D., advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist, has recently joined Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV).</p><p>Board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, Qureshi specializes in heart transplants, mechanical circulatory support and heart failure, which occurs when the heart cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body. He is skillfully trained to treat patients who require procedures such as cardiac transplants, cardiac catheterizations and the installation of mechanical assist devices, which help the heart pump blood. Qureshi is also certified to perform and interpret echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and vascular ultrasound imaging.</p><p>Qureshi earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical College, Pakistan, and completed his internal medicine residency at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Chicago. Prior to his arrival at GWV, he completed an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, N.Y. Additionally, he completed a three-year fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown, where he was selected as its chief cardiology fellow.</p><p>A member of the American College of Cardiology, Qureshi has published a number of research articles and presented across the country on a variety of cardiology-related topics.</p><style>
