Sunshine, frigid temperatures expected for most of the weekend

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A man is facing charges after he allegedly robbed a woman inside of her vehicle early Wednesday morning.</p><p>Orlander Clements, 35, is facing charges of robbery, theft by a motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.</p><p>According to the criminal complaint, a woman reported to police that she had just entered her vehicle at 5:39 a.m. Wednesday in the area of South Main Street and Public Square after buying something at a nearby store.</p><p>The women said her car door was still half open when a man approached and asked to use her cellphone that was on her lap. Police said the woman declined the man and tried to close the door, and a struggle ensued.</p><p>The man then allegedly entered the vehicle, took the woman&#8217;s phone and wallet off the passenger seat, and fled the area on foot on South Main Street.</p><p>Officers interviewed Clements on Friday, and he allegedly admitted to stealing the woman&#8217;s cellphone and wallet. Police also said Clements claimed to have a drug problem, and sold the phone to a pawn shop and stole cash from the woman&#8217;s wallet.</p><p>Court documents indicate Clements has two separate dockets and was arraigned before District Judge Daniel O&#8217;Donnell on Friday. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Thomas Malloy at 10 a.m. on Jan. 19.</p><p>Clements is jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of bail.</p><style>
