Cartwright reintroduces legislation to improve plumbing standards

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Wilkes-Barre, has been named Democratic chairman of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee by Democratic leader Frank Dermody.</p><p>&#8220;I am extremely grateful for this appointment to be the chairman of the agriculture committee which represents the number one industry in the state,&#8217; Pashinski said. &#8220;The committee&#8217;s agenda is full of important legislative bills that affect food, water, agricultural research, and the horse racing industry, which are all vital to Pennsylvania&#8217;s economy.&#8221;</p><p>Pashinski said he intends to work with the majority chairman to keep agriculture jobs in Pennsylvania and keep food products safe for consumers.</p><p>The committee works in conjunction with the state Department of Agriculture for inspections of restaurants and food establishments throughout Pennsylvania.</p><p>Pashinski is serving his sixth term in the House of Representatives. His Luzerne County district includes the city of Wilkes-Barre, Wilkes-Barre Township, Ashley Borough, Fairview Township, most of Hanover Township and Laurel Run Borough.</p><style>
