<p>A company that supplies merchandise to convenience stores is investing in a $12 million expansion project and adding 25 jobs.</p><p>Core-Mark Holding International Inc. will lease 155,000-square feet of space in a property on Great Valley Boulevard in the Hanover Crossings Business Park. The expansion includes infrastructure improvements and the installation of a commercial refrigeration unit at the property in Hanover Township, according to a press release Friday from the governor&#8217;s office.</p><p>&#8220;The region&#8217;s dedicated workforce and prime location, along the Interstate 80 and 81 corridors, are among the key attributes of the commonwealth that will contribute to the company&#8217;s success in Pennsylvania, &#8221; Gov. Tom Wolf said.</p><p>The new hires to be made over the next three years will complement the 381 existing positions at the company&#8217;s other facility in the township. Construction has started and hiring will begin in the first quarter of this year.</p><p>&#8220;This expansion will allow us to better serve our existing customers and support our continued market expansion,&#8221; Bill Stein, Core-Mark senior vice president, said.</p><p>Core-Mark is one of the largest distributors of fresh, frozen, and chilled merchandise mainly to convenience stores in North America. Founded in 1888, the company provides a full range of products, marketing programs, and technology solutions to over 45,000 customers in the United States and Canada through 30 distribution centers.</p><p>The company received a funding proposal from the state Department of Community and Economic Development that includes $50,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be distributed upon creation of the new jobs and $11,250 in WEDnetPA funding for employee training.</p><p>The Governor&#8217;s Action Team collaborated with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce on the project.</p><p>&#8220;This announcement represents yet another example of the positive economic impact that our local and state entities can have when working together for the greater good of the region,&#8221; Joseph Boylan, vice president of economic development with the Chamber, said.</p><style>
