Ex-employee accuses F.M. Kirby Center of retaliation in lawsuit

<p>A 16-year-old boy was charged as an adult in the alleged stabbing of an employee of the Weis supermarket in Dallas Monday afternoon.</p><p>Police said Michael Cheskiewicz, of Monroe Township, Wyoming County, was taken into custody without incident outside the store.</p><p>Cheskiewicz was arraigned by District Justice David Barilla, of Swoyersville, on two counts of felony aggravated assault and simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, both misdemeanors. Cheskiewicz was committed to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $75,000 bail.</p><p>The female employee was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. Two other females ran away from a knife-wielding Cheskiewicz and were not injured, police said.</p><p>According to the affidavit of probable cause filed to support the charges:</p><p>Dallas Police Officer William Norris responded to a report of a stabbing at the store at approximately 1:44 p.m. He received a description of the suspect, later identified as Cheskieweicz, and arrived to find him sitting on a curb and acting nervously with two men standing over him. The men told Norris that the boy was the suspect, and they were his adopted parents. Cheskiewicz was patted down and placed in back of Norris&#8217; police vehicle.</p><p>A store manager told Norris that he recovered the weapon, a &#8220;Faberware&#8221; steak knife with a black handle and silver, partially serrated 5&#189; -inch blade. Norris took the knife into evidence.</p><p>Norris interviewed the injured employee, Megan Curry, who said she was on her way to the bathroom when she heard someone yelling for her to run because there was a male with a knife running after her. Curry told police the male with the knife came out of a room restricted to employees. When he caught up to her, he grabbed her arm and pulled her into him, she said. Holding the knife in his other hand, he lunged at her and stabbed her in the middle of the back, she said. Curry got away and went for help, she said.</p><p>The other two females, Nicole Petti and Erin Soulsby, said they were in the freezer area when the male with the knife pulled them individually by their hoods in an attempt to get them to come with him. They broke away and ran for help. Petti said the male chased her to the back of the store and then outside where she ran to hide from him. When Petti saw him come outside, she went back inside to the manager&#8217;s office.</p><style>
