<p>PITTSTON &#8212; A Wilkes-Barre man accused of <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/591547/wilkes-barre-man-charged-with-rape" target="_blank">raping a woman in September</a> is heading to higher court on charges.</p><p>Almyadd VanDyke, 36, appeared before Magisterial District Judge Alexandra Kokura Kravitz for a preliminary hearing Wednesday.</p><p>Court documents indicate VanDyke&#8217;s charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful restraint, simple assault, indecent assault, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence were held for county court.</p><p>According to an affidavit, a witness arrived at a residence on Main Street in Dupont at about 1 p.m. on Sept. 24 with the alleged victim fleeing from the building and VanDyke giving chase.</p><p>When questioned, police said, the victim reported being assaulted anally, orally and vaginally.</p><p>A woman who was allegedly grabbed by Van Dyke in an unrelated incident<a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/591988/woman-police-could-have-kept-accused-rapist-off-the-street" target="_blank"> told the Times Leader in September</a> police could have kept him off the street.</p><p>VanDyke is scheduled for a formal arraignment at the Luzerne County Courthouse at 10 a.m. on April 6. He remains jailed for lack of $200,000 bail.</p><style>
