<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A county judge late Tuesday evening declared a mistrial in the case of a convicted killer charged with possessing a shank last year inside the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.</p><p>Jordan Tyreak Stevens, 30, is serving a 20- to 40-year sentence after he admitted last January to the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Christopher Narainasami. The teen was found shot in the head near a residence on South Welles Street in Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 13, 2013.</p><p>Less than a month after he was sentenced on a third-degree murder conviction, personnel conducting a shakedown inside the county prison allegedly caught Stevens attempting to conceal a 5-inch shank. The weapon, a sharpened white plastic toothbrush which arrest papers describe as &#8220;readily capable of lethal use,&#8221; was immediately taken from the inmate.</p><p>The case went to trial Tuesday in Luzerne County Court, but jurors deadlocked after about three hours of deliberations, causing Judge David W. Lupas to declare a mistrial at around 7 p.m, court records show.</p><p>Luzerne County Assistant District Attorney Mamie Phillips said Wednesday she plans to retry the case.</p><style>
