Officials seek dealer who sold deadly dose of heroin to Mountain Top man

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; If the climate is warming and sea levels rising, small island nations like Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean may be the first to feel the effects, and Vanuatu&#8217;s ambassador to the United Nations is coming to Wilkes University to discuss the issue.</p><p>Ambassador Odo Tevi will present a a talk titled &#8220;Climate Change, the U.N. and Small Island States&#8221; at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Miller Room of the university&#8217;s Henry Student Center, 84 W. South St.</p><p>The lecture is free and open to the public.</p><p>Vanuatu is a cluster of 82 islands with a population of 252,763. It sits about 2,251 miles west of Australia. Previously known as the &#8220;New Hebrides,&#8221; they were jointly administered by Britain and France for more than seven decades before gaining independence &#8212; and a new name &#8212; in 1980.</p><p>Tevi worked in international banking before becoming U.N. ambassador in 2014. He is coming to Wilkes as part of the United Nations Lecture Series, set up in collaboration with the Humpty Dumpty Institute&#8217;s Higher Education Alliance for the United Nation.</p><style>
