Police searching for woman who stole purse, prescriptions

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Two suspects accused of a string of robberies in November and December 2015 face additional charges in yet another alleged robbery that reportedly took place within that time frame.</p><p>One of the suspects is a juvenile.</p><p>Ibn McClain, 16, and Dashawn McLendon, 22, were each scheduled for preliminary hearings before District Judge Thomas Malloy Sr. on Thursday.</p><p>Court documents indicate their charges of robbery were held for county court.</p><p>According to the criminal complaint:</p><p>A taxi driver for Jose Express came to police headquarters at 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 1, 2015, to report he had been robbed.</p><p>The driver reported that he picked up three men at an intersection in Manhattan, New York, at 9:45 p.m. on Nov. 30. The fares included a man who identified himself as &#8220;Chris&#8221; and two others.</p><p>Once in Wilkes-Barre, police said, the men asked to be dropped off at 460 Madison St. When the driver arrived at the address, he became aware that his three passengers were wearing masks and had handguns, according to police.</p><p>The driver alleged one of the men pointed a gun at him, and he was ordered to hand over $200 in cash, a cellphone and his wallet. The men then allegedly left the vehicle and fled toward East Chestnut Street.</p><p>Investigators were able to obtain photos of one of the suspects from a convenience store in New Jersey where the taxi driver had stopped for gas. Police also discovered in the taxi an iced-tea can that they say was purchased by one of the suspects at the store; authorities were able to match DNA found on that can to McLendon, according to the police.</p><p>McClain also was identified by investigators from surveillance video inside the convenience store.</p><p>The police report did not identify the third suspect who allegedly rode with McLendon and McClain.</p><p>McLendon and McClain also are facing <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/507374/two-suspects-in-wilkes-barre-cab-robberies-charged-with-attempted-homicide" target="_blank">attempted homicide charges stemming</a> from another robbery that allegedly happened early Thanksgiving morning in 2015.</p><p>The driver in that robbery said during <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/531737/preliminary-hearing-underway-for-two-charged-with-attempted-homicide-in-connection-with-cab-robberies" target="_blank">a preliminary hearing in April</a> that after the pair robbed him, McClain shot him in the hand, and the bullet traveled into his leg.</p><p>District Judge Thomas Malloy forwarded those charges onto higher court.</p><p>For the most recent charges, Malloy set a formal arraignment for 10 a.m. on April 6 at the Luzerne County Courthouse.</p><p>Both McClain and McLendon are still jailed from their previous charges, and they are each jailed for lack of $75,000 bail for the most recent charges.</p><style>
