Trump nominates Neil Gorsuch for Supreme Court

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Commonwealth Court Judge Joe Cosgrove, who was appointed by Gov. Tom Wolf last year, has announced that he will seek a 10-year term on the court.</p><p>Cosgrove has been a member of the appellate court since July.</p><p>&#8220;I believe my experience as a judge and lawyer make me uniquely qualified to continue serving on the Commonwealth Court,&#8221; Cosgrove said in a press release. &#8220;I will be ready to start working for the citizens on day one.&#8221;</p><p>Cosgrove said in the release the position carries with it an important duty to the people of Pennsylvania.</p><p>&#8220;No one who lives in Pennsylvania goes through a day without feeling the influence of a decision made by the Commonwealth Court,&#8221; Cosgrove said. &#8220;It is an awesome responsibility. One I take with the utmost seriousness, and dedicate my complete energy to each and every day.&#8221;</p><p>Before serving on the Commonwealth Court, Cosgrove served on the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas from 2010 to 2012, having been appointed by then-Gov. Ed Rendell to serve after the &#8220;Kids for Cash&#8221; scandal.</p><p>Cosgrove also served as chief counsel to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and counsel to the Administrative Office of the Pennsylvania Courts.</p><p>Cosgrove received his undergraduate degree, law degree and a master&#8217;s degree in theology from Notre Dame University. He also has a master&#8217;s degree in studio art from Marywood University in Scranton.</p><style>
