International Paper celebrates 40 years in Hazle Township

KINGSTON - Wyoming Valley West Middle School is conducting a shoe-drive from now through March 17 to raise funds for outside-the-classroom educational activities.Funds2Orgs will purchase the donated collected footwear and Wyoming Valley West Middle School (WVWMS) Activity Fund will earn funds based on the total weight of the shoes.Gently worn, used or new shoes can be donated to the school at 201 Chester St., Kingston. Additional collection sites include WVW central office, WVW Elementary Schools, WVW High School, King&#8217;s College Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center Lobby, Vive Health and Fitness, Frederick Dental Group, Cherry St. Bible Church, Temple B&#8217;Nai B&#8217;Rith, Temple Israel and Larksville U.M. Church.All donated shoes will be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of microenterprise partners in developing nations. Funds2Orgs helps impoverished people start, maintain and grow businesses in countries such as Haiti, Honduras and other nations in Central America and Africa. Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school.
