Twitter has influence — but that’s not luring users

<p>The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission&#8217;s decision Thursday to investigate a $21.7 million base-rate increase sought by UGI Penn Natural Gas Inc. will suspend the hike for up to seven months while it is under review. The deadline for a decision is Oct. 20.</p><p>The PUC in Harrisburg voted 5-0 to investigate the proposed hike that UGI PNG filed on Jan. 19 for system improvements and customer services.</p><p>Under the proposal, the typical residential heating customer using 91.2 hundred cubic feet of natural gas a month would see an increase of 10.6 percent to $86.87 from $78.53, the utility said. The average bill for a commercial customer using 29.6 thousand cubic feet a month would increase to $216.60 from $194.25 or 11.5 percent.</p><p>UGI PNG provides natural gas service to approximately 166,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in parts of 13 counties throughout northeast and central Pennsylvania.</p><style>
