<p>SCRANTON &#8212; A Pittston man was sentenced to seven and a half years in prision for his role in distributing bath salts.</p><p>According to United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, David Folweiler, 29, of Pittston, was sentenced Friday for conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute alpha-pvp, commonly known as &#8220;bath salts,&#8221; by U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion. Folweiler will also spend three years on supervised release following his prison sentence.</p><p>Folweiler previously pleaded guilty to conspiring with others to distribute the drug during 2011 through 2014 in Luzerne County. He also admitted to distributing a kilogram of alpha-pvp. Folweiler was one of seven people, who all pleaded guilty, indicted by a federal grand jury in August 2014.</p><p>The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspectors, the Pennsylvania State Police and West Pittston police.</p><style>
