PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A former Philadelphia high school basketball star was wounded in a drive-by shooting after his college team returned to the city for a game. Towson University says senior John Davis was "injured during an apparent drive-by shooting outside his home." Philly.com (yhttp://bit.ly/2lGuoyC) says that information dovetails with a police report of a shooting that wounded a man in his 20s — who was grazed by a bullet to his knee — and a 16-year-old boy shot about 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Towson coach Pat Skerry says Davis stayed in Philadelphia for the dedication of the birth of his son following Towson's 69-65 win over Drexel on Saturday night. Davis won three straight Philadelphia Catholic League and state championships at Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School before going to Towson.
