75 years later, book returned to Osterhout

<p>Pittston resident Philip Gianfarcaro, 65, has announced he is running for Luzerne County Council as a Democrat.</p><p>Born and raised in Pittston, he has been married to his wife, Vivian, for 43 years and has two adult children.</p><p>A 1970 Pittston High School graduate, Gianfarcaro served in the Army Reserves for eight years and worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for 33 years.</p><p>He has owned and operated two businesses, Bottom of the Ninth Sports Cards in Duryea and currently Phil&#8217;s Clip Joint in Pittston for the last 15 years.</p><p>A Pittston Democratic committee member for 12 years and currently the party&#8217;s city chairman, Gianfarcaro also helped run the Third District Democratic Committee and has been serving on the county party organization&#8217;s executive board for eight years.</p><p>Gianfarcaro said he attends all county council meetings to keep up with county business and is running to help control property taxes, balance the budget, correct county prison problems and &#8220;help the people of Luzerne County.&#8221;</p><style>
