Trial date set for man charged with opening fire at police outside Walmart

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; When a suspect in the robbery of a pizza-delivery man was told by police to stick his hands out a car window, more than just his hands came out, according to documents.</p><p>Terry Williamson had a half-eaten piece of pizza in one hand when cops ordered him to put his hands out the window of a car in which he was a passenger, according to a criminal complaint.</p><p>Williamson, 30, of Gouldsboro; Travis Matthews, 30, of Pittston; and Sara Snee, 30, of Pittston, are now charged in connection with the alleged robbery of a delivery person at gunpoint in Pittston last month.</p><p>All three had preliminary hearings before District Judge Alexandra Kokura-Kravitz on Friday.</p><p>As a result of the hearings:</p><p>&#8226; Williamson, per an agreement with prosecutors, waived charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and theft by unlawful taking to county court. Charges of robbery and simple assault were withdrawn.</p><p>&#8226; Matthews, per an agreement with prosecutors, waived one charge each of conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to possess an instrument of crime to county court. Charges of robbery, theft by unlawful taking and simple assault were withdrawn.</p><p>&#8226; Snee had her charge of conspiracy to commit robbery waived to higher court.</p><p>Matthews and Williamson are each accused of robbing the pizza-delivery person at gunpoint, and Snee is charged with conspiring with the duo. In court, Williamson could be heard defending Snee and saying she &#8220;had nothing to do with this.&#8221;</p><p>The Domino&#8217;s delivery person was allegedly robbed of pizza, $150, an iPhone 6 and his car keys.</p><p>Also according to the complaint:</p><p>&#8226; Officers were able to locate the Domino&#8217;s Pizza bag that was stolen in the robbery in a Dumpster outside Snee&#8217;s residence.</p><p>&#8226; When an officer made contact with Snee at her residence, the officer saw two children sitting on couches, one of which was eating pizza. The officer also saw two Domino&#8217;s boxes on the couch and found the label on one of the boxes indicated the pizza was delivered to the address where the robbery occurred. The label also had Snee&#8217;s phone number on it.</p><p>Snee&#8217;s attorney, Matthew Clemente, argued his client never made the phone call to have the pizza delivered. Field investigator Frank Hacken also testified that Domino&#8217;s management said that a male voice was heard when the order was placed.</p><p>Snee then allegedly told police that Williamson is her fiance, and that the telephone number on the pizza box belongs to him. Snee also said Matthews is Williamson&#8217;s brother. Snee did not know where Matthews and Williams were at the time of the robbery.</p><p>Snee, Matthews and Williamson are each scheduled for formal arraignments at the Luzerne County Courthouse at 10 a.m. on May 4.</p><p>Matthews and Williamson each remain jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 bail.</p><p>Judge Kokura-Kravitz agreed to reduce Snee&#8217;s bail from $10,000 to $5,000, but stipulated that Snee must avoid any contact with Matthews, Williamson and the victim.</p><p><ins>According to the criminal complaint:</ins></p><p><ins>Officers were dispatched to 71 Elizabeth Street at 11:10 p.m. on Jan. 5 for a report of Dominos delivery driver being robbed at gunpoint. At the time, two suspects were seen leaving in a silver SUV.</ins></p><p><ins>Police arrived and spoke with the victim, Bruce Eckersley. Eckersley told police he was delivering pizza to 53 Elizabeth Street and arrived in the area at approximately 11 p.m. Eckersley reported that when he got out of his car and was looking for the address, he was approached by two black man. One of the men allegedly grabbed the pizza bag while the other grabbed Eckersley&#8217;s arms from behind.</ins></p><p><ins>Eckersley then said the man in front of him held a gun to his ribs and asked him where the money was. The suspect then took about $150 cash from Eckersley&#8217;s pocket, along with his iPhone 6 and car keys. The suspects then told him to keep walking, and when Eckersley turned around a few seconds later, the suspects had gotten into an SUV and fled.</ins></p><p><ins>Police transported Eckersley back to Dominos, where they learned that Snee was the one who placed the order for pizza. As they ran Snee&#8217;s information through the state system, they learned that Williamson was also attached to one of the phone numbers attached to Snee.</ins></p><p><ins>Officers went to Snee&#8217;s residence on Winter Street but were unable to make contact with Snee. While outside, officers were able to locate a Dominos pizza bag in a dumpster with Snee&#8217;s name on the delivery tag.</ins></p><p><ins>An officer conducted surveillance at the residence at midnight, and a green Ford Focus arrived at 12:38 a.m. and left shortly after. A traffic stop was later conducted at Chestnut and South Main streets. Robyn Hirt was identified as the driver, while Williamson and Matthews were passengers in the rear of the vehicle.</ins></p><p><ins>Backup officers from West Pittston and Jenkins assisted on the scene. During the stop, officers saw a firearm in plain sight in the vehicle. Hirt, Williamson, and Matthews were detained and taken in for questioning, and officers determined the firearm was actually an airsoft gun.</ins></p><p><ins>An officer testified that when the occupants put their hands out of the vehicle&#8217;s windows as instructed, Williamson had a half-eaten piece of pizza in his hand.</ins></p><p><ins>Matthews told police during an interview that he was on probation for dealing drugs. When questioned about the alleged robbery, Matthews requested a lawyer.</ins></p><p><ins>Williams also denied any knowledge of the robbery when questioned by police.</ins></p><p><ins>An officer returned to the residence on Winter Street, where a woman was seen leaving. The woman said she was babysitting Snee&#8217;s children, and that Snee was a neighbor. The woman also told police that Snee had just returned home.</ins></p><p><ins>The officer made contact with Snee and entered her residence with Snee&#8217;s permission to speak with her. The officer allegedly saw two children sitting on couches, one of which was eating a pizza. The officer also saw two Dominos pizza boxes on the couch.</ins></p><p><ins>Upon further investigation, the officer found a label on one of the boxes that had a time of delivery at 10:23 p.m. with an address of 53 Elizabeth Street and Snee&#8217;s number on it. When the officer told her the boxes were being delivered at the time of the robbery, police said Snee started to cry.</ins></p><p><ins>During Snee&#8217;s hearing, her attorney Matthew Clemente argued that his client never made the phone call to have the pizza delivered. Field investigator Frank Hacken also testified that Domino&#8217;s management said that a male voice was heard when the order was placed on the night of the alleged robbery.</ins></p><p><ins>Snee then allegedly told police that Williamson is her fiance, and that the telephone number on the box belongs to him. Snee also said Matthews is Williamson&#8217;s brother. Snee also told police she did not know where Matthews and Williams were.</ins></p><p><ins>Snee also claimed to be at a neighbor&#8217;s house, but when police spoke to the neighbor, the neighbor told police Snee was never at the residence. The neighbor told police Snee asked her to watch her children as she went out to get pizza at 9:14 p.m., and that she did not hear from Snee until after midnight.</ins></p><p><ins>Following the hearing, Clemente argued that evidence against his client was &#8220;very weak&#8221; and did not prove that she was present at the time of the robbery.</ins></p><p><ins>Prosecutor Greg Skibitsky, however, said other evidence other than the phone call implicated Snee in the crime. He said Snee was reportedly away from her residence at the time of the robbery, allegedly lied about being at her neighbor&#8217;s, and that the pizza delivery bag was near her residence when police spoke with her.</ins></p><p><ins>Kravitz ultimately agreed that enough evidence was present to forward Snee&#8217;s charge to county court.</ins></p><style>
