Our view: College kids deserving of a diamond or four

<p>On behalf of the Pennsylvania State Corrections Officer Association members at SCI-Retreat, I want to thank state Sens. John Yudichak and Lisa Baker and state Reps. Gerald Mullery, Eddie Day Pashinski and Karen Boback for their exceptional leadership in our fight to save Northeastern Pennsylvanian prisons.</p><p>The fight was always about family, community and jobs. The support we received from Luzerne County Manager David Pedri, Luzerne County District Attorney Stephanie Salavantis, Wilkes-Barre City police, Newport Township commissioners and the Nanticoke Area School District was incredible.</p><p>Our state and community leaders understood that from the start, and they were tireless in their efforts to help our local families.</p><p>There are no words to express our gratitude or to describe how proud we are of Sen. John Yudichak for leading the northeast delegation from the start.</p><p>The fight to save state correctional facilities has left us with one clear lesson.
