Luzerne man charged with indecent exposure in Plymouth

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A jury was seated Tuesday to hear the case of a man accused of slashing a woman&#8217;s throat and leaving her for dead in 2014 over what prosecutors allege was a stolen iPhone.</p><p>Jerone Andre Moore, 33, of Wilkes-Barre, faces nearly a dozen charges, including attempted murder, for allegedly cutting Dayna Williams&#8217; throat in October 2014 near Bear Creek Township. He will stand trial alone after two of his codefendants previously entered guilty pleas.</p><p>Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas swore in the jury around 4:30 p.m. and ordered them to return to the courthouse Wednesday morning for opening statements.</p><p>Williams, then 22, was abducted from her Pittston home and taken to a residence in Wilkes-Barre where she was stripped naked, beaten and placed in a barrel, according to an affidavit. She suffered a 3-inch-deep gash to her neck but survived and made her way to a nearby residence, where the owner called 911.</p><p>Moore and two others &#8212; Chloe Amelia Isaacs and Nygee Jamal Taylor, both of Wilkes-Barre &#8212; allegedly placed the victim in the trunk of Isaacs&#8217; vehicle and drove her to the secluded area near Lake Aleeda Road, where Moore ran the blade of a knife across her neck.</p><p><a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/564251/woman-accused-of-kidnapping-assault-pleads-guilty-to-charges" target="_blank">Isaacs, 23, pleaded guilty</a> to unlawful restraint, simple assault, reckless endangerment and false imprisonment in July. She is awaiting sentencing. <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/564251/woman-accused-of-kidnapping-assault-pleads-guilty-to-charges" target="_blank">Taylor, 27, pleaded guilty</a> to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder last week and was sentenced to 9&#189; to 19 years in state prison.</p><p>Prosecutors say <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/606930/prosecutors-contents-of-cellphone-motive-in-throat-slashing" target="_blank">Williams stole an iPhone that Isaacs and Taylor shared</a> at a party at their city residence in October 2014. The phone held evidence that incriminated the pair as drug dealers, prosecutors said, and was a device the two could ill-afford to lose. Moore, who was reportedly at the party with Williams, was summoned to help retrieve the phone.</p><p>Moore faces charges of attempted homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and simple assault.</p><p>Moore, who has been jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility since June, is being represented by county conflict counsel attorney David V.
