<p>It&#8217;s been five months, but the wait for New York Yankees baseball is over.</p><p>The Yankees took the field at George M. Steinbrenner Field for the first time this spring on Friday, in their spring training opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.</p><p>In a 9-4 victory over the Phillies, manager Joe Girardi sent out a starting lineup that resembled that could be sporting those grey Yankees uniforms on April 2 in Tampa Bay, with only center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury out of the lineup. However, a wholesale change took place when the Yankees trotted out of the dugout in the top of the sixth inning.</p><p>Leading the changes were expected Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders opening-day outfielder Clint Frazier, top prospect Gleyber Torres and Baseball America&#8217;s 12th-ranked Yankees prospect in Miguel Andujar. All three players made their presence known during the five-run win.</p><p>Andujar, who could make his way to Triple-A at some point, made the most of his sixth-inning at-bat. The third baseman drilled a ball to deep right field, and a leaping Chris Coghlan couldn&#8217;t secure the ball, that resulted in an RBI triple. Andujar scored on the play after the relay throw to third briefly went into the dugout.</p><p>The infielder later doubled in the eighth inning as well.</p><p>Alex Rodriguez is known to be a big supporter of Andujar&#8217;s.</p><p>&#8220;Added to the 40-man roster in November after having a solid season at Trenton, where he hit .266 and a couple of home runs, but also impressed the Yankees in the Arizona Fall League, where he was named to their All-Star Game,&#8221; YES Network Yankees analyst and reporter Jack Curry said during the broadcast.</p><p>After a pair of unanswered runs, Torres stretched the league back out to three with a sacrifice fly to right field in his first at-bat in pinstripes.</p><p><strong>Judge belts one</strong></p><p>Right fielder Aaron Judge was a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde for the Yankees last season &#8212; demonstrating plenty of power, but striking out 42 times in 84 at-bats &#8212; and that theme was on display again Friday. The 6-foot-7 outfielder, who could start the season in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre if he doesn&#8217;t beat out Aaron Hicks for the starting right-field job, struck out on an offspeed pitch in his first at-bat, but hit a monstrous first-pitch home run off of the scoreboard in left center to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning.</p><p>&#8220;Today I was just trying to go in there and see some pitches, take some quality swings at good strikes and I felt like I accomplsihed that today,&#8221; Judge told YES Network Yankees clubhouse reporter Meredith Marakovits during the top of the eighth inning.</p><p><strong>Frazier&#8217;s bat speed on display</strong></p><p>While Frazier did strike out looking in his sixth inning at-bat, his bat speed, which Yankees general manager Brian Cashman called &#8220;legendary&#8221;, was on display.</p><p>In a foul ball down the first-base line, Frazier&#8217;s bat breezed through the strike zone. He later tripled to deep right to drive in a pair of Yankees, giving New York an 8-2 lead.</p><p>Kay lauded about how quick Frazier&#8217;s bat was through the zone.</p><p>&#8220;They do talk about that, and you can see, just the untrained eye watching in the batting cage, he gets the bat through the strike zone very quickly,&#8221; Kay said during the top of the sixth inning.</p><p>&#8220;Some of the words that pop to mind when you watch Frazier are intensity, perfectionist,&#8221; Curry added. &#8220;This is a guy that doesn&#8217;t want to just get to the major leagues, he wants to get to the major leagues and excel. He wants to be an all-star, but he also understands he has some work ahead of him.&#8221;</p><style>
