<p>Rain and strong storms are expected to impact the Wyoming Valley today and into tonight.</p><p>According to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are expected today as a strong cold front passes through the region. Some storms could be severe and produce damaging winds.</p><p>An isolated tornado is also possible.</p><p>No watches or warnings have been issued for Luzerne or Lackawanna counties.</p><p><strong>The forecast</strong></p><p>While it&#8217;s going to feel like spring today, colder temperatures will move back into the region as the weekend approaches.</p><p>The National Weather Service indicated it was 57 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.</p><p>Showers and a possible thunderstorm are likely before noon today, followed by showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Some storms could produce gusty winds, and up to a half an inch of total rainfall is possible. Today&#8217;s high will be near 70.</p><p>A chance of showers and thunderstorms will persist before midnight tonight, followed by a slight chance of showers overnight. Some storms could produce gusty winds, and less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall is expected. Tonight&#8217;s low will be around 35.</p><p>Thursday will bring partly sunny skies, with a high near 41.</p><p>Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, along with a chance of flurries. The low will be around 26.</p><p>Mostly cloudy skies will round out the week on Friday, along with a 40 percent chance of snow showers.
