<p>HARVEYS LAKE &#8212; Police say a woman drove her vehicle right into Harveys Lake as she looked down at her phone for directions.</p><p>Borough police Chief Charles Musial said officers were dispatched at noon Wednesday for a report of a car into the lake.</p><p>Musial said that when crews arrived, the car was submerged in water. The driver, identified as Alysha Baker, 23, managed to escape and was with paramedics.</p><p>Musial explained that Baker left her residence at the corner of Noxen Road and Lakeside Drive, then turned left. She traveled approximately 1,500 feet when she looked down at her phone for directions, according to Musial.</p><p>That&#8217;s when her vehicle entered the lake. Musial said Baker was able to unfasten her seat belt and open the car door shortly before the car entered the water.</p><p>The car drifted about 100 feet along the shoreline and went out about 50 feet, the chief reported.</p><p>The water seemingly had little effect on the vehicle.</p><p>&#8220;The car actually ran for a half hour while it was submerged,&#8221; Musial said. &#8220;We couldn&#8217;t believe it.&#8221;</p><p>The vehicle entering the lake posed no environmental concerns, authorities say. Musial said Baker was not injured, and no property damage was reported.</p><p>Baker will be cited with careless driving, police say.</p><style>
