New faces heading to state boys basketball playoffs

GLEN LYON - The Newport Township Community Organization and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 539, supported by CEO, sponsor a food bank on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the American Legion Post Home, 62 Newport St., Glen Lyon.This event is for Newport Township residents only. Registration must be made by calling Lorrie Meterewicz at 570-736-7177, no later than five-days prior to the day of distribution to ensure there is enough food available for all families.First-time applicants must bring proof-of-residency and a form of identification for all household members. Further information may be obtained from Lorrie when calling to register.Volunteers of all ages are needed to unload, set up and serve beginning at 4:30 p.m.
