<p>High temperatures are expected to climb in the Wyoming Valley early this week, but plummet to the to 20s by Wednesday.</p><p>A slight chance of rain and snow also is in the forecast.</p><p>The National Weather Service said it was 28 degrees at about 7 a.m. at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies.</p><p>Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 44.</p><p>Mostly cloudy skies will carry into tonight, along with a 40 percent chance of rain between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the low will be about 35.</p><p>Tuesday will bring partly sunny skies and a high near 50.</p><p>Mostly cloudy skies will return Tuesday night, along with a slight chance of snow showers after 3 a.m. Winds also could gust as high was 20 mph. The low will be around 26.</p><p>Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, along with a slight chance of snow showers before 9 a.m. Winds also could gust as high as 28 mph.
