Hanover Twp. Police: Two men assaulted, stabbed by three suspects

<p>DUNMORE &#8212; After going missing for more than a day, federal Judge Edwin Kosik was found in a wooded area Thursday night and taken to a hospital where he was &#8220;doing well,&#8221; authorities reported.</p><p>The 91-year-old judge, who just recently stopped hearing cases, was found in an area leading back to the Dunmore Reservoir. U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane said at approximately 6:30 p.m., two Dunmore residents, Joe DelVecchio Jr. and Alec Yanisko, were walking on an access road when they spotted Kosik&#8217;s gray Acura RDX.</p><p>&#8220;They notified Dunmore Police Department,&#8221; Pane said.</p><p>Dunmore officers brought a K-9 unit, and the dog was able to find Kosik. He was lying on the ground approximately 100 yards from his vehicle.</p><p>&#8220;At the time, he was awake,&#8221; Pane said. &#8220;He was aware.&#8221;</p><p>Pane told Fox56 the judge even commented that the marshal had cut his hair since the last time he saw him.</p><p>Kosik was transported to a Scranton hospital, but Pane would not disclose if Kosik suffered from any injuries or weather-related harm.</p><p>&#8220;He&#8217;s doing well,&#8221; Pane said.</p><p>Kosik was reported missing Wednesday around 4 p.m. by his family, Pane said during a press conference Thursday morning before the judge was found. He was last seen attempting to enter a Bill&#8217;s ShopRite on the Daleville Highway and then driving away in the opposite direction of his Covington Township home.</p><p>During the earlier press conference, State Police Capt. Chris Paris said Kosik was taking medicine for mild memory loss.</p><p>Pane lauded the &#8220;two young men&#8221; who found Kosik&#8217;s car and responded so quickly.</p><p>&#8220;As a result of their efforts, that&#8217;s why we stand here today with a positive story.&#8221;</p><p>Pane also thanked law enforcement involved with the search, as well as the paramedics who responded, Capt. Paris, and Dunmore Police Chief Salvador Marchese.</p><p>Pane said the area where Kosik was found was being treated as a crime scene.</p><p><em>Melanie Mizenko contributed to this report.</em></p><p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"></p><p dir="ltr"></blockquote></p><style>
